Customer is America’s premier fine wine merchant that allows its users to search for rare and exclusive wine based on criteria like region, color, vintage, color, format, and price. With over three generations involved in delivering an unrivaled selection of wines, available at low prices, through their concierge services, the customer ensures that its customers have the best experience possible as they grow and manage their own collections.

Its mission is to bring its customers the world’s most sought-after wines from impossible-to-find back vintage treasures to exciting new releases, at great prices. Customer’s commitment to what they do on a daily basis is about ensuring that their clients have nothing less than an amazing experience.

While they offer one of the world’s largest selections of fine wines and rare wines, they are equally passionate about discovering highly-rated, inexpensive gems that still taste like the best wines. They sample hundreds of wines each month and select only the top representatives of their region and style that are also the best values.

Build a Mobile App

To build a commercial mobile app for wine lovers with easy search and superb engagement. The app was to be created from scratch, keeping the theme aligned with customer’s website.

To boost sales and increase brand awareness, the mobile application had to be smooth and attractive. Customer recall is possible only when the first impression of its users was positive.

What We Did?

The client wanted to employ a mobile application that could let their customers enjoy the same ambiance as one could experience while standing in their store, perusing the oaken shelves for their favorite beverage, or looking to try something exotic and asking for the store’s weekly select.

The need was to have a mobile app loaded with features, yet it had to be simple and elegant. We had to strike a balance between functionality and appearance, which we were able to accomplish through our inclusive process of design iterations & live mock-ups, till the client was satisfied with what we were aiming for.

We began by creating a complete sketch of the project and predefining everything, laying out the expectations of the outcomes and output for further ease. We made sure the client was well within the loop of every process, with our team taking their creative input consistently in coming up with the final design mockup of the application.

The application was visualized with a friendly interface that would let the customers select services and products from the relevant category, or search the collection for themselves. The user could select from various categories of service providers, prioritizing them accordingly.

Banners were used to highlight the latest products added to the inventory, sale declarations, and other incentives that could attract customers. The home screen was designed to engage with the users, offering a sneak peek into everything the app offered.

The menu was given special attention to aid the customers with quick access to the main categories and the customer account. The product page was carefully designed to incorporate all the necessary details. We added marketing elements into the built-up allowing the customers to share their choice of product on every social media platform, thereby helping the app gain following through word of mouth, and customer reviews.

Checkout on the mobile app was designed on the basis of one-step checkout for websites, such that all the information about the product, address, delivery options, cards/payment was provided on a single page and the customer could easily check out without any breakdowns.

Search on the mobile application was built on similar lines to that of the website, containing the auto-suggest feature and autocomplete feature. A tag- “Product Choice” was created for selected items, showcasing the wine recommended by the Customer team.

Furthermore, we enabled a request feature, available only for a registered user, that customers could use to request a label or ask questions regarding the selection, on a chat system operated by the customer admin.

In the end, we performed beta tests on a select group of existing customers to understand the response and fix the issues detected. The final application was unrolled with the client’s approval.

Outcome

With the user-friendly UI and a beautiful theme, Customer’s new website was an instant hit amongst its customers. Wine aficionados in America could now stay within the comfort of their homes and order their favorite wine directly through the app. This convenience directly translated to sales, with the brand showing unprecedented growth within a short period of time.   

The new application also helped with an increase in brand awareness for Product, as connoisseurs of great taste and variety, could now avail themselves of their services from a wider geographical range. With a systematic delivery system in place and an efficient online payment method setup, the app could function with minimum effort from the administrators. It also helped with streamlining the online orders received on the site.
