Fiber Connect MENA, an organization dedicated to advancing fiber optics in the Middle East and North Africa, sought to upgrade their existing Joomla website to WordPress. 1. Design and Discovery Process
This foundational phase focused on aligning technical requirements with business goals:
- Conducted a comprehensive audit of the Joomla site to understand its structure, features, and limitations.
- Identified 30+ core pages and over 1,450 content assets, including articles, images, PDFs, and videos.
- Mapped all content types to their appropriate WordPress post types to ensure smooth transition.
- Outlined key technical requirements such as multilingual support (WPML), form integrations (Gravity Forms), and membership access controls.
2. Functional Implementation & Content Migration
- Migrated all structured content including pages, media, and documents to WordPress.
- Rebuilt each page using Elementor to maintain design fidelity and improve user experience.
- Ensured the accurate transfer of advanced features such as member-only sections, search functionality, and resource libraries.
3. Development and Customization
- Selected the lightweight and SEO-friendly GeneratePress theme as the base.
- Customized layouts using Elementor to match the client’s branding and usability goals.
- Improved mobile responsiveness through optimized images, viewport settings, and adaptive layouts.
- Custom theme development was carried out to ensure full alignment with functionality, branding, and scalability needs.
4. Thorough Testing and Quality Assurance
- Performed extensive testing to validate data integrity and formatting accuracy.
- Verified browser compatibility, form functionality, and member login systems.
- Conducted QA for SEO, security settings, multilingual configurations, and load performance.
5. URL Redirection and SEO Preservation
- Mapped old Joomla URLs to new WordPress URLs using 301 redirects to preserve SEO equity.
- Updated all internal links and generated a new XML sitemap.
- Integrated with Google Search Console and benchmarked SEO metrics before and after migration.
6. Launch and Ongoing Support
- Launched the new WordPress site post-QA approval.
